Consentz is clinic software designed by an aesthetic doctor, and it is at its strongest on consent forms, consultation notes and before and after photos. For an Australian cosmetic clinic, Clinic App is likely the stronger fit for two reasons: it runs the whole clinic in one system with one record per patient, and it is built around the AHPRA and TGA rules Australian clinics advertise under. Clinic App also hosts patient data in Sydney and is set up with your team in person. Choose Consentz if consent forms and precise photo comparison are what you care about most.
Both systems take the clinical side seriously. The difference is what sits around it: the desk, memberships, rewards, the advertising rules an Australian clinic works under, and where patient data lives.
Every Consentz fact below links to Consentz's own pages, read on 1 November 2026. Where they don't settle a question, we say so.
What does Consentz do well?
Consentz was built by someone who treats patients. Its homepage describes it as "clinic management software designed by an aesthetic doctor", and it shows in the clinical tools.
- Photos that line up. Its photos and records page says "Consentz's ghosting feature allows you to precisely line up photographs so you get the very best comparisons."
- A consent library. The same page says "A library of consent forms is available for you to select, edit and approve", alongside "consultation note taking and consent forms".
- An iPad app for the treatment room. The homepage describes an iPad app "designed for the Practitioner to use in clinic alongside the patient".
- Booking and payments. The homepage says patients "will never have to ring you or leave your website or IG to book appointments", and that Consentz "offers online or in person point-of-sale systems."
For a clinic whose priority is clean consent and consistent before and after photos, that is a thoughtful product. It is fair to say so.
What does Clinic App cover in one system?
Clinic App puts the clinical side and the repeat revenue side on the same patient record. It was built inside working Australian cosmetic clinics, front desk first. It runs the diary and online booking, deposits and cards on file, front desk checkout and payments, memberships with monthly billing, packages, gift vouchers, rewards and points, a prepaid wallet, referrals, review requests, reminders, the waitlist, consent forms and intake, treatment records and photos, rosters, stock, multi-location and reports. One system, one login, one record per patient.
That matters most at the desk. When a member walks in, reception sees their membership, rewards balance, signed consent and last treatment on the same record it uses to check them out.
On Consentz, memberships, loyalty points and AI are not described on the homepage or pricing page we read. That does not mean Consentz cannot do them. Ask Consentz directly if memberships and rewards are a big part of your revenue.
Which one is built around AHPRA and TGA rules?
Clinic App builds the rules Australian cosmetic clinics advertise under into the system. The Consentz pages we read, including its homepage and privacy policy, do not mention AHPRA or the TGA. That is not a criticism of Consentz's quality.
The TGA's guidance on complying with the restrictions on advertising prescription medicines to the public says prescription medicines cannot be advertised to the public except in very limited circumstances. AHPRA's guidelines for advertising a regulated health service restrict testimonials and inducements, and its guidelines for performing non-surgical cosmetic procedures say a patient's consent must be documented. Clinic App builds in:
- Points, rewards, discounts and offers never apply to Schedule 4 (prescription-only) treatments.
- Prescription medicine names are kept off public, patient-facing promotional surfaces.
- Marketing campaigns and automatic messages are checked for prescription medicine names, including disguised spellings, before they can be sent.
- Review requests never offer points or rewards for a review, skip staff, and are checked for prescription medicine names.
- Consent keeps its wording. Consent forms are signed digitally, and the exact wording each patient agreed to is stored with their signature and versioned. Consent for under-18s fails closed: it needs a guardian path.
- Treatment records keep their history. Changes are amended or struck out, never deleted.
No software makes a clinic compliant on its own: the clinic and its practitioners stay responsible for their own advertising and care. Our guide to TGA and AHPRA rules for clinic loyalty, rewards and membership offers covers the detail.
Consentz is built around consent and the photo. Clinic App keeps both, and adds the desk, the next visit and Australia's advertising rules on the same record.
Where is patient data stored?
Clinic App hosts patient data in Sydney, Australia. Card numbers are handled by Stripe and never stored by Clinic App.
Consentz's privacy policy says: "Our primary hosting is in the UK, so personal data is not routinely stored outside the UK." It lists "Amazon Web Services and DigitalOcean for cloud hosting (UK regions)". If keeping Australian patients' records in Australia matters to your clinic, that is a clear difference. Our guide to client data stored overseas sets out what to ask any vendor.
How do the costs compare?
Neither publishes a price. Consentz's pricing page offers a free trial and a demo, with no prices shown.
Clinic App is priced to your clinic, quoted after the free 45-minute Patient Revenue Audit. It charges flat fees, with no setup fee, no per-seat fee and no lock-in.

Which should your clinic choose?
Consentz may suit you better if your clinic's priority is the treatment room: a consent library, an iPad app the practitioner uses beside the patient, and before and after photos lined up precisely, and you are comfortable with UK hosting.
Choose Clinic App if you are an Australian cosmetic or skin clinic, you offer prescription treatments, and a good share of your revenue comes from memberships, packages and patients who rebook. Then it pays to have the desk, consent, membership billing and rewards on one record, with the AHPRA and TGA rules built in and patient data in Sydney.
